These family members were daughter, Elizabeth Wadsworth and husband James, their two foster children, James (Thomas) Wadsworth (Frost) and Mary Jackson (Mary Jackson married Thomas Smith aboard the sailing ship "Horizon" just off of the coast of England, on 25th of May, just one day after sailing.); granddaughter, Elizabeth Cotton (name incorrectly transcribed as Colton for Horizon); and son, Edward Hutchinson.

She is listed as Esther/Hester Stock on Hunt company/Caravan ship records. (John Stock, her half-brother and guardian, emigrated from S. Africa in 1860). Esther was traveling with the Parker family and Mary Ann Quinney. Mary Ann said that Esther had all the toes on one foot frozen. They hurt so much that she asked Mary Ann to cut them off, one every day, until they were gone. Mary Ann put axle grease on them to help them heal.
